They quite resemble to beans and their size is not as big as compare to lungs. Normally, the size of a kidney is just like the size of a PC mouse you usually use in daily routine life. They are located at your back right in the middle right below the stomach. More specifically, they are located right below your rib cage right besides your spine at both sides.

The major function of kidneys is to filter and purify the dirty toxicants and chemicals from your blood and the waste materials in the water you drink on daily basis. On daily basis, a person’s kidney usually purifies 200 quarts of Blood and other waste materials from the water you drink. This shows the importance of kidneys in a unique way because a heart just pumps blood butt major role is of kidneys that helps your heart to pump blood easily. In short, if your kidneys are damaged than there are as such no alternates to purify the chemical juices and blood in your body.

The extra water and wastes produced from your kidneys are then transferred to your bladder that automatically stores them as urine. The waste liquid keeps storing in your bladder unless you release it.

Although, I have described a rough location of kidneys above but this is the most specific explanation I am going to share with you guys. Normally, kidneys are located at the back of your abdominal cavities right above your waist. Practically, if you are willing to find the location of your kidneys then put your hands on your hips and the location of your kidneys is right above the distance of few thumbs. More precisely, one of your kidneys is located right below your liver of left side and one is right below your spleen at the right side.

Kidneys have a great importance and most likely, about 185 liters of waters passes from kidneys which is equivalent to almost 53 gallons. Renal Artery is the major key that delivers/transfers blood/water to kidneys everyday and after the purification, Renal veins are responsible for the transferring the blood to your heart.
