INTRODUCTION:
Sleep is important among humans because it can promote body relaxation and give the body enough rest in the day’s activities. Furthermore, good sleeping habits will regenerate your skin cells to renew and dead cells will slough off. This will give you stress free skin. DEFINITION OF SLEEP:
Sleep is described as a naturally characterized as reduced or out of consciousness, all the voluntary muscles as well as sensory activity are being suspended. In the sleeping state, there are two major stages, these are:
- Non-rapid eye movement, in the brain electrical activity there are three sub types, namely:
- Stage N1 sleep, this is the stage that begins from wakefulness to deeper sleep. Sometimes, humans do not perceive that they are sleeping.
- Stage N2 sleep, in which this is commonly the stage called the true sleep.
- Stage N3 sleep, has been associated with very deep sleep, delta sleep or slow wave sleep.
- Rapid eye movement sleep, this is the stage that there is complete inactivity of the involuntary muscles except the muscles that controls the eye movements.
This cycle is regularly experience by individuals and any alteration of the sleeping pattern will affect the body’s circadian rhythm. In order to evaluate the stages of sleep, sometimes the physician will order EEG or electroencephalography; this is a type of test that measures the brain electrical activity. This is one of the devices used to properly diagnose patients who are suffering from major sleeping problems.
KINDS OF SLEEPING PROBLEMS:
Once there is abnormality in the sleeping cycle of the individual, certainly they are experiencing sleeping problems. The most common problems of sleep include:
- Insomnia, this is a condition in which the individual finds hard to sleep normally.
- Sleep apnea, this means that you’re breathing during sleep will temporarily stop due to any blockage in the upper airway.

That is why, you need to manage these things very carefully in order to avoid disruption of sleep, like diverting your stress to other activities, during the day develop your time effectively by having it organized. Always put it in your mind that you need to be productive so that stress will be diminished.
